2013 Barolo Gramolere, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2013 Barolo Gramolere, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

The 2013 Gramolere is complex, powerful and very impressive. There's notes of resin and mint, as well as crushed herbs and a hint of tar, and a very finely judged tannic structure. The finish unfurls with definition and complexity, and seems to last for minutes and minutes.

Tasting notes

Manzone's 2013 Barolo Gramolere is gorgeous. Aromatically lifted, precise and nuanced, the 2013 has a lot to say. The flavors are bright and finely cut in this super attractive, mid-weight Barolo from Manzone. This is an especially refined style for Gramolere. Pine, sweet red cherry, mint, orange peel and anise shape the delicate, silky finish. The Gramolere is the most accessible of Manzone's stellar 2013s.
