2012 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2012 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

This is the smallest and oldest vineyard in the domaine, with vines over 55 years old producing this Barolo in tiny quantities on red clay soil. Quite a serious wine, with intense tannins and a brooding concentrion. Complex, long and ageworthy.

Tasting notes

The 2012 Barolo Bricat is bright and nicely focused, with beams of supporting acidity that give the wine its freshness and verve. Sweet floral and minty notes open into red plum, cedar, tobacco and leather. Finely cut and yet also quite giving, the 2012 is a wine that speaks to balance above all else.
