A typical “Super Tuscan” blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese with 20 months’ ageing in French oak. A delightful, very subtle black fruit-dominated nose with just a hint of very pleasant tobacco leaf in the background leads into a palate of stunning richness with a core of gorgeous, juicy black cherries. The balance of fruit and tannic structure is perfectly judged, and the finish is complex with plenty of winter spice. This is absolutely superb.
