Enzo Tiezzi’s top vineyard site and the historical core of the estate. Situated immediately adjacent to the cellars and planted on a south-west facing slope, the densely planted vines are trained low and entirely hand harvested. A little over 2 hectares in size, the volumes produced are tiny, with a great deal of care and attention paid from vineyard to bottle. The expressive nose shows notes of currants, tea leaves and sweet spice. What really impresses here is the energy this wine displays on the palate, packed with sour red cherries, leather and a hint of woodsmoke. The tannins are mouth-filling, but fine-grained and ripe, perfectly framing the fruit and refreshing acidity. Everything is in perfect proportion.
