2007 Barbaresco Gallina, Piero Busso, Piedmont

2007 Barbaresco Gallina, Piero Busso, Piedmont

The smallest production of any Busso wine, in fact just 1,000 bottles are made in total, even with addition of a small new portion of vineyard. Fermented in stainless steel then aged in barrique (30% new), the result is exceptionally exotic. Although very spicy, with rich, showy fruit, it clearly has all the backbone needed for a long life. Very good quality, less a traditional style and appealing more to modernists, there is a lot of bang for your buck here!
