This is treated very differently from the other Cru wines, as it is given two years in barrique, a year in tank and a year in bottle before release. It transforms the style, with bigger and bolder colour coming from the barrique, as well as flashier fruit. This has a lovely texure: ripe and round with tannins to the fore, this is a more powerfully extracted style, with dried fruit on the palate and even a slight balsamic note. This is a terrific wine, which displays all of the generosity for which Gallina is famed.
