The Ovello vineyard in the north of the commune is at some altitude and the cooler microclimate translates into the wine. The colour is quite deep and the nose is a captivating combination of spice, mineral, black cherry and vanilla. The palate is defined and focused with great persistence.This is assertive with fresh clean acidity due to the coolness of the vineyard. Has real structure with its finely-grained tannins. As good as the barbaresco is, Ovello is always two steps ahead of it. Wonderful.
