2004 Brunello di Montalcino, La Gerla

2004 Brunello di Montalcino, La Gerla

La Gerla, under wine consultant Vittorio Fiore, are making truly outstanding Brunello. The 2004 is traditionally made and has a ruby aspect. The nose is dominated by ripe red soft fruits, with strawberry and cherry dominant. The palate is beautifully finessed and has great balance, with a discreet yet powerful core. Expressive, yet not overt, long and full of character. The balance in this wine makes all the components appear seamless. This is very accomplished wine making. Outstanding.
