A blend of 90% Tempranillo with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 1999 Reserva Especial is delicious. Still a core of dark plummy fruit, there’s resolved yet present tannins and a brisk line of acidity which makes this incredibly approachable. It’s complex, mineral and long. A brilliant wine at over 20 years of age, and still with some left in the tank.
