2010 Cirsion possesses a quite astonishing nose, absolutely loaded with pure black Tempranillo fruit and layered with a touch of spice-box oak. This oak is however beautifully integrated, playing a supportive, rather than domineering roll. The palate… well where do I begin? Of all the young wines I have been privileged to taste, I have never tasted anything with such incredible texture and balance. The fruit is absolutely glorious and the tannins, though really quite huge, seem to completely melt in your mouth. A young wine of this concentration and power should not be this easy to taste, but this is just joy in a glass. What it will be like in ten years time, I can only dream…
