2008 Riesling Loibner Steinertal Smaragd, F.X.Pichler

2008 Riesling Loibner Steinertal Smaragd, F.X.Pichler

This has an enticingly smoky, peach nose, with some white flower and lime zest characters. On the palate, the structure provided by the minerality and citrus-acidity is immediately evident, providing a framework for juicy ripe peach and apricot fruit characters. There is an attractive touch of peppery spice on the finish. Delicious.

Tasting notes

Medium green-yellow color. Incredibly fragrant nose exudes nuances of mandarin orange, crisp vineyard peach and subtle lime blossom honey. Tautly strung acids give this riesling extraordinary delineation for such a full-bodied wine. Abundant wet slate and salty nuances are in perfect harmony with fruit notes of sweet ripe lime and mandarin orange. The vibrant, palate-staining finish of this racy riesling goes on and on, indicating superb aging potential.
