The cooler growing conditions of 2013 resulted in beautifully detailed and aromatically pure Spatburgunder. Klingenburger is a steeply sloping vineyard with red sandstone soils planted to younger vines yielding a riper and more sumptuous style of Pinot Noir. Freshly ground coffee and all spice mingle with juicy black cherries wrapped up in silky tannins: a nod towards Chambolle-Musigny, perhaps?
