2014 Bois des Jots, Vadin-Plateau
A mere 600 bottles of this cuvée were made from Yann Vadin's half hectare parcel of 60 year old Pinot Noir vines. Vinification in cement eggs, stainless steel tanks and old barrels was followed by ageing under cork before disgorgement with zero dosage in 2018. Considering the attention to detail and limited volume, this is exceptional value for money. Yann Vadin is only in his late 20s, but has already earned huge respect for his wines, made from over 100 parcels scattered across 7 hectares in the Premier Cru village of Cumières to the north of Epernay and six other villages such as Ay, Damery, and Hautvillers. The domaine is certified organic, and practicing biodynamic.
