80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from 55 year old premier cru vineyards in Rilly-la-Montagne, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The nose of this 2013 is floral and enticing, with the vintage's naturally sophisticated austerity that promises rewards for the patient. The palate is chalky and racy to a fault. The acidity drives through the back palate, enrobed by juicy lime green fruit with a kiwi lift. It makes the wine feel so alive. Yet another scintillating wine from Laurent Champs at Vilmart.
