This wine is utterly unique, produced from two grand cru plots of ungrafted Pinot Noir vines, just next to the Bollinger House in Aÿ (it used to be three, but sadly one of the plots succumbed to phylloxera in 2004). So this is a wine that, already rare, is getting rarer still. It is renowned for its outstanding complexity thanks to its old, ungrafted vines. Since its first release in 1947 it has been the Blanc de Noirs Champagne that all others aspire to.
