A blend of half Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir, the Prélude from Taittinger is one of the best value Champagnes we know. All the grapes come from Grand Cru vineyards, and are from the first press. This is vibrant and pure, with astonishing persistence, and a very fine bead. The finish is mineral, with just a hint of toastiness from almost five years on the lees. Outstanding.
