Richard Bray is an ex-sommelier, winemaker, author, and now wine merchant - a true all-rounder in the wine industry. He makes this delicious, small-batch white in the cellars of Mas Cristine in the Roussillon. Cathartic Wines is Richard's own project, and with a few vintages under-way, is picking up momentum. This is a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Gris and Carignan Gris. The Carignan Gris comes from 100-year-old vines and gives the wine a pithy structure, whilst Roussanne and Grenache Gris give it a fruit-laden decadence, which nicely counterbalances the sea-salt freshness and bright acidity of the wine.
