1989 Coteaux de l'Aubance, Château d'Avrillé

1989 Coteaux de l'Aubance, Château d'Avrillé

1989 was an outstanding vintage in the Loire, and this wine from the lesser known appellation of Coteaux de l’Aubance has a simply gorgeous development of black truffle notes, with richness and an appealing touch of sweetness on the palate. A bargain for a wine of this age.

Château d'Avrillé

The tiny area of Coteaux de l’Aubance is one of the Loire’s best kept secrets, and produces fresh wines with more in common with Savennières than the neighbouring Coteaux du Layon. Château d’Arville dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, and this parcel of wines from the legendary 1989 vintage comes directly from the castle’s own cellars. Each bottle will be individually reconditioned before being bottled and shipped, so their quality can be guaranteed.
