The Burgundian oak that winemaker Albéric Mazoyer uses for his St. Péray provides a perfect marriage for the Marsanne grape. The aromatic, apricot and floral nose is very classic and fresh with notes of soft peach and quince. There is also a wonderful leanness to it, which is reminiscent of nut oil, beeswax and oatmeal. On the palate, this complexity and minerality shine through to deliver a wine that has superb weight and balance, zesty nuttiness and a fabulous saline quality on the finish. This is spectacular dry St. Péray born of extremely talented winemaking.
