There’s a spiciness to the Triotes in 2015, with dark cherry fruit alongside floral violets and mouth-coating freshness. Pretty and delicate, but with the stuffing of the vintage, it’s an impressive wine.
What should be another good value, the 2015 Côte Rôtie les Triotes comes from the La Triotes, Lancement, le Combard and le Mollard lieux-dits, and will see 18 months in 25% new oak. It’s a medium to full-bodied, supple, even sexy effort that offers a touch of violets, smoked meat, bourbon barrel and vanilla. It has sweet tannin and I suspect will drink nicely in its youth, yet also evolve for a decade or more.
