Very restrained on the nose with just a hint of raspberry jam and grated white chocolate coming through, the 2010 "L'Ermite" really impresses on the palate, which is full, fat and seductive - yet very fresh. Benefiting from an excellent tannic and acid structure, this wine represents the epitome of balance: all its parts are tensioned perfectly to create an almost circular feel. It is very juicy with stunning purity of fruit and an outstanding peppery and savoury length that just keeps on going. If wine perfection is objectively achievable, then surely this is as close to it as one can get.
