Deep ruby red with garnet rim. This wine, which is produced only in top vintages and in limited quantity, opens up in the glass to reveal a lovely balance between ripe cassis and blackcurrant, Provençal herbs, pepper, leather and spice. On the palate, it shows considerable elegance and poise, with a lovely depth of flavour. This is a wine which will continue to please for many years. (Robert Parker: 91-93 points)

With an impressive female winemaker, Claire Darnaud, at the helm since 2010 (though with experience there dating back to 1996), and considerable investment in the cellar to move to the historic town centre, the wines here are some of the more refined in the region. Careful never to use more than 40% new oak, Claire is a master of her craft.
