2014 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes, Jean-Claude Lapalu, Beaujolais

2014 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes, Jean-Claude Lapalu, Beaujolais

"The 2014 Brouilly Cuvee Vieilles Vignes, which undergoes exactly the same vinification as the Beaujolais Villages, has a wonderful nose of blackberry, briary wild hedgerow and hints of dried violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit mixed with licorice on the entry. There are fine tannins underpinning this Brouily, and though it feels a little clammed up on the finish so close to bottling, it is very elegant and composed."
