2011 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Demoiselles, Domaine Philippe Colin
Though classified as 1er Cru, Les Demoiselles vines are situated within an enclave of Chevalier-Montrachet and border Le Montrachet. As the situation of the vines might suggest, the wine shows Grand Cru levels of concentration and complexity. It has a rich and explosive nose, which is immensely complex and a joy to behold. Hugely concentrated flavours of lime, greengage and citrus fruit are surrounded by a mouth-coating texture and supported by superb acidity which gives a real sense of tension.
