With the same underlying rock formation as neighbouring Le Montrachet, here the soil is a little deeper and the wines a little sturdier. Fontaine-Gagnard’s Bâtard has an exotic nose of apples caramel and sweet spice. There is an opulence and richness to the palate, with fine balancing acidity.
