One third of the Méo vines in this parcel were planted in 1920, and their vines reach metres deep into the soils, producing formidably concentrated fruit. The rest of the blend is made up of fruit from vines planted in the 1960s. The overall effect is of great maturity and finesse. 2019 is a particularly stong year for Clos de Vougeot, and it is at its most fabulous in the hands of Jean-Nicolas Méo.
