2019 Volnay, Michel Lafarge

2019 Volnay, Michel Lafarge

This is a blend of their lower-lying parcels of village Volnay plus some 1er Cru Brouillards. Lafarge’s Volnay is always so elegant and charming, with a perfumed nose, and an expressive silky frame.

Tasting notes

The 2019 Volnay Village, matured in used oak barrels, has such a pretty nose with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. Quite floral in style. The palate is well balanced with a rather sappy opening. Nice grip here with touches of pepper towards the persistent finish. Good structure, quasi-Pommard maybe.
