2014 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Taupenot-Merme
This takes a little coaxing, but with time comes an inviting, sexy, floral nose. The fruit is fleshy and juicy, and as the tannins build so too does the complexity of flavours: violets, hints of spice and a lovely lifted quality to the fruit. Supple and muscular, and very impressive.
