2014 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru La Riotte, Domaine Taupenot-Merme
A small vineyard just below the village, Romain’s La Riotte is a true expression of Morey-Saint-Denis. Spice on the nose, both sweet from the 30% new oak, but also more peppery, savoury. There is depth to the dark fruit and minerality on the gently muscular palate, whilst mouth filling volume returns that spiciness to the back palate.
