2014 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux
Latricières means ‘nothing much’ in Latin. Fortunately this refers to the top soils of the site and not the wine: such a description couldn’t be further from the truth. Lots of dark fruits on the nose and palate, with serious weight and texture, black pepper and a hit of liquorice, the 80% new oak is absorbed beautifully. A brooding monster at the moment, there is so much complexity already apparent.
