2012 Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches, Louis Latour
This vineyard sits mid-slope on the border with Pommard and produces some of the most serious wine in Beaune from old vines, and was a standout at the tasting. Powerful with violets, crushed raspberry fruit and a note of graphite, an intense yet seductive wine of huge promise.
