This new-ish cuvée from Domaine Jean Grivot was a total surprise – made from 100% 50-year old Gamay aged in 10% new oak, it is far removed from most expressions of this grape variety. Endowed with absolutely gorgeous, dark fruit, a crunchy, juicy yet silky texture and surprisingly tight and firm tannic structure, this is an absolutely stunning wine and would be perfect for drinking now or to lay down for three to five years.
