2012 Volnay 1er Cru Les Taillepieds, Domaine de Montille
One of the most hallowed names in Volnay, Les Taillepieds is generally de Montille’s best wine from this commune. The structure here is impressive; tannic with a huge natural acidity, it is immediately clear that this is built for the very long term. Cranberry and red cherries dominate the mid-palate, but it is the splendid mineral edge and very persistent finish that really makes this a superb, very fine Burgundy.
