Lavaut St-Jacques is one of the cooler and latest ripening vineyards in Gevrey. As a result it tends to produce very fine and delicate wines that are more in the red fruit spectrum. This is certainly the case with the Duroché Lavaut St-Jacques, which is the very epitome of elegance. Produced from vines planted as early as 1923, it shows a more subtle, mineral style of Pinot Noir. Wonderfully complex and all about harmony rather than power.
