2011 Vosne-Romanée, Jean Grivot

2011 Vosne-Romanée, Jean Grivot

Etienne Grivot prefers to pick his grapes early to preserve acidity and phenolic harmony. It is clear that this philosophy is paying dividends, as he is achieving unprecedented levels of elegance and balance in his wines. Grivot’s village Vosne Romanée is always a strong cuvée, but this year it is particularly good. It shows brilliant fruit, with wonderful definition. The nose is very pretty, with red fruit and floral notes. The palate has excellent attack, with juicy fruit, fine acidity and good mouth feel. The finish is long, with a touch of spice and leaves an overall impression of harmony and quality.
