Etienne Grivot describes his Clos Vougeot as “a big wine that he has to educate”. It is clear that he is a very good teacher, as he has managed to give this monumental wine a rare elegance and sensual quality. It has wonderful volume that somehow seems to expand in your mouth. Cool raspberry and red berry fruit overlays a firm tannic structure and mineral finish. This is a serious, but very attractive wine, with balance, concentration and a finish of epic length.
