2005 Pommard 1er Cru, Comte Armand

2005 Pommard 1er Cru, Comte Armand

Produced from the young (19 to 23 year) vines of Clos des Epéneaux. Only
marginally less impressive than the brilliant 'grand vin' (see below) this cuvée is
brimming with the most gorgeous rich black fruit scents and flavours.
Powerfully built yet, as with all the greatest wines of this exceptional vintage, the
tannins are barely noticeable such is the lusciousness the wine reveals. Aged
70% in new oak for 14 months and a further six months in older wood, yet it is
swathes of rich, luxurious fruit that dominate the palate. Really excellent value.
