Guillaume d'Angerville explained that the Domaine's philosophy of softextraction occasionally results in wines that are not as intensely coloured as those from some other estates in the vicinity but this is certainly not the case with the 2005s which display vivid deep ruby/purple tones. The estate has produced a truly fabulous range this year. The Champans displays a profound spiced blackberry-inspired perfume. Gloriously rich and sumptuous, this is archetypal Volnay that seduces with its heavenly fruit, velvety texture and complexity.
