2004 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Jean Grivot

2004 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Jean Grivot

Lovely flesh here and remarkably open for a grand cru. Rich fleshy bramble and red berry fruits dominate the nose with a toasted, caramel edge beneath. The palate shows more intensity and one can feel the grand cru complexity and breeding coming through. There is an intensity to the fruit here which is thick and tight at this early stage. Powerful tannins and a real bite of minerality on the finish ensure this wine a promising future.
