2011 Château Coutet, Premier Cru Classé Barsac

2011 Château Coutet, Premier Cru Classé Barsac

Subtle and quite restrained on the nose, with an attractive smokey edge. Not at all cloying, with apricot, orange blossom and pineapple fruit character at the core, whilst being light and fresh on the finish.

Tasting notes

Tasted blind. Deep orangey gold. There’s something odd on the nose – furniture polish? Tea leaves? Lots of sweetness assails the palate initially and then the acidity comes charging on. It certainly isn’t yet integrated but it may well get there. Rather tiringly sweet at the moment.
