2004 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux, Margaux

2004 Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux, Margaux

The aromas here are very expressive, as one would expect from a cuvée that is constituted from entirely Sauvignon Blanc. Classic ripe peach with some zesty citrus elements and a biscuity nuance from new oak emerge from the glass. The palate shows a glorious depth and an enticing sense of ripeness. The full gambit of Sauvignon flavours is on show from grassy, zingy notes to softer peach and nectarine, gentle vanillin and biscuity oak add complexity. Texturally this is a hugely impressive effort, with full nature allied to a fresh lively acidity.
