One of the estates from the Lafite-Rothschild stable, Rieussec is year in, year out one of the very best Sauternes produced. Dominated by Sémillon as it is, the blend offers a full-bodied, rich and waxy texture with plenty of butterscotch and fudge notes. The sweltering heat of 2003 produced incredibly high levels of natural sugar in the grapes, and the flavours beautifully ripe and almost tropical. This wine, paired with a tarte tatin, would be perfect for a truly hedonistic dessert experience.
