This excellent everyday drinking St Estèphe from the team at Calon-Ségur may have lost the second half of its name this year (Gasqueton) but none of the quality that have made it a staff favourite at Lay and Wheeler over the past few years. Courtesy of a drier summer than further South in the Médoc, it is dark, concentrated, opulent, and really quite serious with the structure to age gracefully. A success of the vintage that is very much worthy of consideration!
