2013 Le Petit Mouton, Pauillac

2013 Le Petit Mouton, Pauillac

Mouton certainly have the means at their disposal to mitigate the vagaries of a challenging vintage; time was of the essence when it came to bringing in the crop and with an army of 700 pickers this was done in record time at Mouton. Meticulous selection resulted in the lowest yields in 40 years, but the sacrifice was well worth it. An aromatic nose of juicy blackberries and sappy red-berried fruit flows to a well proportioned palate with polished tannins and finishes on a subtle cocoa and coffee note. A compelling and very attractive effort.
