2010 Château Cheval-Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion

2010 Château Cheval-Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion

Dark and refined on the nose, almost closed in comparison with the second wine - presumably due to the higher percentage of Cabernet Franc (56%) in the blend. On the palate, the tannins are very finely expressed, giving a firm backbone to a core of soft dark berries, mulberries and plums. Layered and intense, with a dart of minerality, this is a wine that will need plenty of time to open out and become truly approachable.
