2009 Château La Vieille Cure, Fronsac
Darkly appealing on the nose, with notes of dusky damson fruit alongside morello cherry and touch of wood-spice. The palate shows an immediate and attractive freshness that gives a brightening lively nature to dark berry fruit. The tannic structure here is substantial but ripe and well-integrated, providing a frame to the rich core of fruit, which carries through onto a lingering finish. An example of the quality and balance to be found in the 2009 vintage and at extraordinary value.
