This is a very fine effort from Denis Durantou (of Eglise Clinet fame) made from 100% Merlot. Ripe, red berries dominate the perfumed nose and the palate reveals a touch of pepper and spice backed up with fine, silky tannins. Ending with a toasty finish and a hint of graphite minerality, this is a very natural, appealing wine which will reward mid-term cellarage.
