The quality of the wines emanating from within the exotic architecture of Cos d’Estournel is such that a relatively high 55% was made into the first wine. A blend dominated by the 85% Cabernet Sauvignon used, this has a deep opaque colour and a beguiling nose of dark berry fruits with a floral overtone. There is a good core of restrained fruit, quite full with integrated tannins and a long balanced finish.
