2005 Château Kirwan, Cru Classé Margaux

2005 Château Kirwan, Cru Classé Margaux

Throughout the 1980s and most of the 1990s Chateau Kirwan produced disappointing wines, but in recent years quality has risen dramatically. A sea-change in style - today's Kirwan is a profound, fruit-laden, luxuriously juicy Margaux - has resulted in critical acclaim from professionals on both sides of the Atlantic. 2005 Kirwan is opulent and rich with grippy tannins and a structured core. A big, powerfully built Margaux that combines concentration with sumptuous black fruit flavours. Very limited availability.
