2005 Château Figeac, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

2005 Château Figeac, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

The enigmatic Figeac employs one third of each of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in its blend. In 2005, this château had had the benefit of terrific ripeness from each variety. Showing good density in the glass, and with its typically calm and collected bouquet, one has the impression of a seamless, velvet texture here. Poised and elegant, this is an exceptional wine, pure and delineated with plenty of staying power.
